A weightlifting belt lives or dies on one thing: does it actually brace you when the bar gets heavy? Ours does.
Cut from 5-6mm leather and built the same way belts have been built for decades, it gives you a solid wall of support the moment you take a breath and set your core, without turning your first belt into an expensive lesson in discomfort.
This is the belt we recommend for beginners and intermediates. It's stiff enough to do its job under a heavy squat or pull, but it hasn't been over-engineered into something that fights you between sets. If you're buying your first proper lifting belt, or replacing one that's finally given up, this is where to start.
Why lifters choose it
| Full-thickness leather. 5-6mm of genuine leather that holds its shape lift after lift, rather than softening and folding under load like cheaper synthetic belts. | |
| 4" back, tapering to 2.5" at the front. Wide, padded support across the lower back where you need it, without the bulk digging into your hips when you set up for a squat or deadlift. | |
| Double prong buckle. Distributes tension across two points instead of one, so the belt stays put and doesn't slip mid-set. | |
| 8 adjustment holes. A proper range of fit, so you can dial in the exact tightness that works for your bracing rather than settling for close enough. |
Finding your size
Measure around your waist where the belt will actually sit when you lift, usually around your belly button, not where your trousers sit. Belt sizing and pant sizing rarely match, so it's worth getting the tape measure out rather than guessing from your jeans.
| Size | Waist |
|---|---|
| Small | 25" to 33" |
| Medium | 30" to 38" |
| Large | 35" to 43" |
| XL | 40" to 48" |
Between sizes? Go with the smaller of the two. Leather softens and gives slightly with wear, so a belt that feels snug out of the box will settle in after a few sessions.
